Quote to cash (QTC)

Also called: QTC · CPQ to cash

Quote to cash is the end-to-end chain from configured quote through contract, order, invoice and collection, and the point where sales structure meets financial truth.

The chain crosses at least four systems and two functions, and every handoff is a place where the commercial intent can be lost. What was quoted must equal what was contracted, must equal what was provisioned, must equal what was invoiced. Each equality is a reconciliation someone has to own.

Configuration rules are the upstream control. If the quoting system can produce a combination that delivery cannot fulfil or finance cannot recognize, the defect enters the contract and is discovered downstream by the team least able to fix it.

Where it breaks

Quote line items do not map to billing SKUs, so invoicing is rebuilt by hand each month.
